ABOUT ME AND MY WORK
I am a Kentucky artist. First and foremost, my roots are here. I love the people, the land, the kindness, the grace and the beauty of this Commonwealth and its people.
I love the country-fresh air, the changing weather, nature's full glory displayed in each of the four seasons, the horse farms, the festivals, and the quality of life.
Yes, I've traveled. I've lived in other locations. Returning to my roots was a choice, not a default. Kentucky is where I belong -- where my life (and my art) sparkle.
I have always been creative. Early on I was gifted with the ability to make things; but it wasn't until the world shut down for COVID that I discovered my love of art.
In three short years I went from picking up a pencil to draw for the first time, to living the artist's life. I have focused on charcoal as my favorite medium and have learned to create detailed images -- images that accurately reflect the subject I am drawing.
That is how Sheila Kay Fine Art was born!
